LIFE STORY: THERE WAS A PLACE I USE to HAVE LUNCH AT OJODU WHEN I WAS IN LAGOS.

There was a place I use to have lunch at ojodu when I was in Lagos. The canteen was owned by a Ghanaian family. The husband was in charge of logistic, the woman was in charge of the kitchen while the children took care of customer service. I was addicted to their delicious foods. It was in the evening, after eating, I stayed behind to catch some breeze before leaving. A conversation led to the other between the husband and other men and he started this story with...."Take good care of yourself if you don't want to die untimely, I almost lost my life years back when I was working and not eating..." This followed a happening at ojodu concerning a hardworking man that lost his life due to low blood count and bad nutrition. The Ghanaian man narrated his story. Few years ago when I came to Nigeria with my wife, I was working as a load carrier at Balogun market, I help people carry the goods they buy from the market to the park or cars and I get paid. That was what ...

New naira notes: CBN gov., bank MDs risking arrest -Gbajabiamila...Emefiele not in Nigeria, says apex regulator The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, warned on Thursday that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele, risked being arrested for failing to honour an invitation by the House to explain the limited circulation of new Naira notes in the country, days before the January 31 deadline set by the bank to stop the use of old notes. The affected denominations are N1000, N500 and N200, which the apex bank recently re-designed. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, yesterday declared that the January 31, 2023 deadline fixed by the apex bank for the return of old N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes would not be extended.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, yesterday declared that the January 31, 2023 deadline fixed by the apex bank for the return of old N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes would not be extended. Emefiele, rather, urged those who might still be holding on to the old banknotes to turn them in, assuring them they would not be harassed by the anti-graft agencies. The CBN Governor’s comment came just as the Senate and House of Representatives members urged the banking sector regulator to extend the deadline. Both the red chamber and the green chamber requested for a six-month extension of the deadline. In addition, the House of Representatives set up an ad hoc committee to meet Managing Directors of banks and subsequently with the CBN over the public outcry on the cash withdrawal limit and scarcity of the redesigned naira. They also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the matter. However, addressing journalists at the end of a two-...

The fraudulent National Startup Investment Fund. It has come to the notice of the Nigeria Startup Act team that a fraudulent website ‘’National Startup Investment Fund — (NASIF)’’ is being circulated online. The proposed National Startup Investment Fund is a scam website created for the purposes of collecting the sensitive information of applicants including the BVN / NIN for criminal purposes. Neither the Federal Government, Nigeria Startup Act, Bank of Industry or the African Development Bank is in any way affiliated with this fraudulent initiative. The Act’s provision of a Startup Seed Investment Fund is currently in its pre-implementation stages and all necessary steps needed for startups to get access to the fund would be communicated directly via our online platforms. Although some reputable media platforms have circulated this fraudulent initiative, it is by no means real. We urge our friends in the media to carry out due diligence and to reach out to the NSA secreta...
