APC REPLIES LABOUR PARTY: WE WILL MEET MR. PETER OBI IN COURT

APC REPLIES LABOUR PARTY: WE WILL MEET MR. PETER OBI IN COURT  We watched with dismay today's press conference addressed by the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi where he made very weird and wild claims about the outcome of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections, an election in which he emerged a second runner up, according to the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.  We welcome the decision of Mr. Obi to seek redress in court as an aggrieved party if he is convinced of the evidences of electoral frauds he will present before the tribunal as alleged.  Going to court is part of the electoral process and it is the most decent, statesmanlike and civilised course of action to take. We salute the decision. It is surely better than calling supporters to the streets and instigating social unrest.  Before Mr. Obi goes to court, we consider it necessary to challenge some specific claims in ...

AGGRIEVED AKWA IBOM COUNCILORS DESCRIBED UDOM AN AS "OPPRESSOR" ...as Gov. begs them to support Umo Eno amidst unpaid salaries. Aggrieved councillors in Akwa Ibom State have described their governor, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as an "oppressor" who only knows their worth when he wants to lure them to support his unpopular candidate. The councillors spoke shortly after the governor hosted them to an unusually friendly meeting in his expansive country home in  Awa, Onna LGA, on March 1, 2023. According to one of them who pleaded anonymity, Udom begged the angry councilors to support Mr Umo Eno, his handpicked candidate, who has permanently suffered massive rejection from the people.  "Despite all the salary allowances and constituency projects money that Udom is owing us, he had the guts to come and beg us with a paltry sum of $200 to support his stooge", the angry lawmaker said. Another councilor, who gave his name simply as Hon E. Kufre, corrobor...

OONI OF IFE OBA ADEYEYE ON MR. PETER OBI

Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye on Mr. Peter Obi   "It has been established in Nigeria's interest that our votes can count. It is now a theory involving the Labour Party and Peter Obi. Peter obi has proven this to Nigeria, and Nigerians who believe their votes cannot count. I give that credit to President Muhammadu Buhari for his solid legacy. "Many people underestimated Peter Obi as an underdog, but he had a very good spread and significant numbers of people who came out to vote for him. Nigerians warmed their hearts towards him within a short period of time. Politics is beyond money. We are getting there as a nation. Anyone who wants to joke with the third force should get serious. Politicians have to work like servants.

MR PETER OBI IS THE HERO OF 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS AND UNDENIABLY, THE HERO OF NIGERIA DEMOCRACY.

Mr Peter Obi is the hero of 2023 General Election and undeniably, the Hero of Nigeria Democracy. Initially, I wasn't propelled to support Obi but after some thought, I was provoked to join other well meaning Nigerians to rally for a paradigm shift even when I had doubt of his winning considering some factors which one of it has just played out. He enjoyed real support. It wasn't purchased. People volunterily invested their time, energy, resource and intellectual prowess to make the dream realizable. Through him, many things altered. Through him, new breeds were elected as Senators and House of Reps against the old order where the political men and power seekers chauvinize the process.   A total of 84 persons according to report were elected to upper and lower chamber through the Obidents Movement. Obi is a political celebrity in West Africa Region and his supporters are in legions. This is a glaring truth that cannot be obfuscated. Win or lose, whichever way it goe...

"I congratulate His Excellency on his victory. Elected by the people, he is the best person for the job. I shall now work with him and his team to ensure an orderly handover of power. The election was Africa’s largest democratic exercise. In a region that has undergone backsliding and military coups in recent years, this election demonstrates democracy’s continued relevance and capability to deliver for the people it serves. Within Nigeria, the results reveal democracy’s ripening in our country. Never has the electoral map shifted so drastically in one cycle. In the presidential elections, States in all regions across Nigeria changed colour. Some amongst you may have noticed my home State among them.
