ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 5, 2023 AT 6:25 PM, LEDYARD POLICE OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE REPORT OF AN OUT OF CONTROL FEMALE.

On Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 6:25 PM, Ledyard Police Officers responded to the report of an out of control female. Upon arrival to the residence the victim report that the female party, Melissa Chubbuck of Ledyard, was upset that the victim came home early from work. Chubbuck then began to yell and scream and go after the couple’s juvenile son. The victim then retreated to a bedroom inside the residence with the son. Chubbuck then began to force her way into the room where she was confronted by the victim. Chubbuck then physically went after the victim and proceeded to scratch his face causing a minor injury. Chubbuck was taken into custody without further incident and was charged with Disorderly Conduct, and was released on a $2,500.00 non-surety bond and is to appear in New London Superior Court on Thursday April 6, 2023.

ON THURSDAY, APRIL 6, 2023, AT 3:27 AM, WHILE LEDYARD POLICE OFFICERS WERE CONDUCTING TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT ON ROUTE 2, LEDYARD, CT

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 3:27a.m., while Ledyard Police officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Route 2, Ledyard, CT, the accused was observed heading westbound at a high rate of speed. The accused was travelling at a speed of 90 mph in a clearly posted 50 mph zone. The accused, 37 year old William Baez of Springfield Mass., was stopped in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot, Route 2, Preston, CT. Upon making contact with the accused, a strong odor of alcohol was found emanating from his breath. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was administered to the accused in which he failed. As a result, the accused was arrested. The accused was transported to Ledyard Police Department. The accused was processed under the listed charges.  The accused was held for four hours and subsequently released on a $500.00 non-surety bond with a court date of 5/3/23 in New London.

  POLICE HAVE COMMENCED INVESTIGATIONS ON THE SUSPECTED MURDER BY SHOOTING WHICH OCCURRED LAST NIGHT IN APAC MUNICIPALITY WHERE UNKNOWN GUNMEN SHOT A MAN  Police have commenced investigations on the suspected murder by shooting which occurred last night in Apac municipality where unknown gunmen shot dead Denis Angulu, a businessman who operates a wholesale shop.   The North Kyoga regional police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema said in a statement that the district police commander of Apac upon receiving information that there were gunshots in a place called Ocokcan cell-Dam ward, Akere Division in Apac Municipality immediately visited the scene.   Okema says it was established that Angulu Denis, 48 years old who (was) the managing director of Deno and Sons Enterprises was found shot dead outside his gate while lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

UPDATE: A SECTION OF PARENTS OF VH Public PRIMARY SCHOOL, LIRA CITY HAVE CALLED FOR INVESTIGATION OF THE CHAIRPERSON PARENTS AND TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION  A section of parents of VH Public Primary School, Lira City have called for investigation of the chairperson Parents and Teachers’ Association, Regan Ongom who was awarded a contract to construct latrines at the school at a cost of 250 million shillings. The investigation is on between Regan Ongom and the headteacher. The parents argue that the move to award Regan Ongom the contract is not proper since he cannot be held accountable due to his position as chairperson PTA. Nelson Ongom Abura said the award of this contract was not within the law. Geoffrey Onyeko Okwir another parent of VH Public Primary school said the school is faced with several challnegs that ned urgent Intervention. Regan Ongom said the contract was awarded to him after a resolution made by parents of the school.

Kenyan socialite Sheila Wairimu alias Shay Diva Africa has been sentenced to four years in prison with the alternative of a Ksh200,000 fine after she was found guilty of motor vehicle theft. The 30-year-old socialite was accused of accessing tycoon, PJ Dodhia Kumar’s TIMs/NTSA account and transferring ownership of the vehicle to herself without following the due processes of succession. According to records at the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), Shay Diva filed a transfer of the log book by logging into the TIMs account of the deceased at 11.45 pm on April 26. The transfer was authorised at 2 pm the next day, but there were no supporting documents from the owner. After Kumar died in April 2021 at the age of 61, his family filed a complaint with the police after it was discovered that Shay Diva had taken the vehicle.
