NOW, NO OPTION BUT TO STOP SAYING THAT IGBO PEOPLE ARE THE MOST MARGINALIZED TRIBE IN NIGERIA.
3BONES NEWS Reporter and scriptwriter discovered that people of Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Southern Gombe, Southern Borno , People of Jos, Nassarawa, some parts of Kogi and entire people of Benue are completely frustrated in Nigeria even more than the Igbo people. On Monday afternoon, I had an opportunity to talk politics with a mobile police man attached to our organization. They are two policemen, one is from Borno while the very one I talked with is from Taraba state.
On the day Tinubu was declared a winner , I saw the two mobile policemen rejoicing that Tinubu won the election. That was the first day I saw our HR talked for close to an hour with the policeman from Borno as his colleague, the other policeman from Taraba state went out for an official duty. Our HR is a Muslim and this policeman is also a Muslim. They were so happy that Tinubu won but I am not here to discuss them, I am here because of that policeman from Taraba state.
On that day, he approached me and asked me for my observations concerning the just concluded presidential election, I grudgingly replied him that Tinubu won. To my greatest surprise, I saw his mood changed. I was surprised because this is a person I saw celebrating Tinubu's victory at the poll with his colleague. I never knew he was pretending to be happy that Tinubu won. He was doing that to please his fellow northerner.
He complained bitterly and wondered how possible it could be for Tinubu to win that election because all over Taraba state, the masses voted for Peter Obi. I thought that he was saying this to please me but I was wrong. I realized that he was not pretending when I saw him almost crying.
I never knew there are people in Nigeria who needed Peter Obi's Electoral Victory more than I do. He said he personally mobilized his brothers and his community to make sure that they voted for Peter Obi and they all voted for him. He said he has reliable sources from various contacts across northern states like Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe and Kaduna state that Peter Obi won the election but they were confused when INEC announced the results of the election.
Looking into his, I could see a frustrated Nigerian policeman who is tired of what is happening in his state. He tried to blame Simon Ekpa's sit-at-home order across Southeast on election day for causing Peter Obi's loss at the poll but I quickly reminded him that no one obeyed his order except some places in Imo state and that despite his sit-at-home order, people of Southeast came out in millions and voted for Peter Obi.
From his utterances, I discovered that there are many tribes in Nigeria who believes that Nigeria is not working but only Igbo people has the gut to voice out their frustrations concerning Nigerian state. I discovered that people of Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Southern Gombe, Southern Borno , People of Jos, Nassarawa, some parts of Kogi and entire people of Benue are completely frustrated in Nigeria even more than the Igbo people.
These people are been persecuted and marginalized in their country but it seems their adversaries are bigger and stronger than them. They can't complain because if they do, the real owners of Northern Nigeria from Sokoto, Katsina, Yobe, Zamfara and Borno will punish them for voicing out their frustrations.
They loved Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa's boldness as freedom fighters but unfortunately, Nnamdi Kanu is fighting for liberation of a section of this country which is Igbo land. He could have become a National Hero capable of destabilizing the corrupt political strongholds in Nigeria had it been he dropped the idea of championing secession and fight for total liberation of Nigeria from the grips of bad leadership. Nnamdi Kanu would have cornered the supports of millions of troubled and persecuted tribes scattered across Nigeria and he could have become a National Hero.
I never knew there are people from northern Nigeria admiring Nnamdi Kanu's boldness but they don't know how to fall in line with his ideology because it wasn't a national ideology but a sectional ideology fighting to liberate Igboland which is more difficult to achieve than if he had pursued a national rebirth ideology which he would have achieved easily due to his charismatic nature.
After listening to this policeman from Taraba who said that Peter Obi's loss at the poll frustrated his people in Taraba who believed that Peter Obi's victory at the poll would have liberated their people from ethnic cleansing secretly going on in his state. Now, I have no option but to stop saying that Igbo people are the most marginalized tribe in Nigeria. I never knew there other tribes in Nigeria looking up to Igbo people for their redemption. This hurts me .
