I told you guys about a colleague, Mr Okikiola, who later withdrew from our initially agreed 10k bet on presidential election results. He was siding Tinubu while I was siding Peter Obi . He would have won the bet had it been he didn't withdraw from the bet.

Today we met at the starve canteen as I was chatting with our accountant, Mr Segun. Mr Segun was actually a diehard Obi-dient. He encouraged many of our staff to register for their PVC and also pressured them to go and collect their PVCs. Since Peter Obi lost the election, he withdrew to his shell. He was psychologically affected mainly because of insults he has received from his fellow Yoruba who are mainly Agbado supporters. So today I met him and we discussed the election extensively.

As I was chatting with Mr Segun, Mr Okikiola came in and met us in the canteen and everywhere caught fire. He regretted withdrawing from the bet but we went further to talk about the issue of Igbo people trying to claim Lagos through Gbadebo. He didn't hide his tribalistic tendencies as he said that Igbo people can never rule Nigeria. He opined that if left for him alone, Igbo people should leave Lagos.

Our Accountant, Mr Segun was gazing at him and was wondering how God created such persons like Okikiola to exist on Earth. He reminded Okikiola that where he works and earn salaries is owned by an Igbo man. He told him to go round the whole Ikeja and that if there are 200 hotels in Ikeja , about 150 of them belongs to Igbo men. He is earning a living in a hotel built by an Igbo man and he has the gut to tell Igbo people to leave Lagos.

 This is a hotel that gives him two full square meals every day coupled with bread and egg as breakfast. Each meal if bought outside can cost him more than #3,500 per meal. This is a hotel that paid him #80,000 service charge few days ago and that is not his salary. This is a hotel that pays him double of his salary every December. This is a hotel where he has opportunity to eat what he can't ordinarily afford if left to buy it outside. This is a hotel where he eats and even take some home for his children. This is a hotel where he has received tips in dollars, pounds and Euros from both Black and White guests 

This is a hotel where out of 55 staff they have, over 20 of them are Yoruba. This is a hotel where immediately they employed a Yoruba as the HR, she was systematically sacking other tribes and be replacing them with Yoruba until the hotel chairman discovers it and gave her order to send names of anybody she employs to him for final approval.

Mr Okikiola thought that Igbo people in Alaba or Ladipo are stealing money from Yoruba land and therefore they should go back to Igbo land. He forgot that many companies built and owned by Igbo people in Lagos employs Yoruba people too. If Igbo people should go, even the Yoruba people too will lose their jobs.

After Mr Segun lectured his fellow Yoruba brother about the dangers of tribalism, Mr Okikiola was stunned. To my greatest surprise, Mr Okikiola never knew that the owner of the hotel he has been working in as a full time staff with full benefits is owned by an Igbo billionaire from Anambra state. Interestingly, this hotel is mostly patronized by his Lagos politicians as it is among the top ten best hotels in Ikeja. 

Igbos are in Lagos for business. Nobody is scheming to claim your Lagos. So calm down and stop the hate.
